"Claimed in Shadows is a great addition to the Midnight Breed series. I loved re visiting the First Generation of Breed Warriors and there Breedmates. This is Aric Chase's story. Son of our beloved Sterling Chase aka Harvard and his beautiful Breedmate Tavia. I really enjoyed the bits with Pregnant Ranata and Nikolai and Mira there adopted daughter and her Breed Warrior. It was great fun to catch up with old characters that feel like friends. I have been reading Midnight Breed series since 2007 and Lara Adrian's never disappoints.
Aric Chase has been sent on a mission in Canada to get information on Opus Nostrum the enemy that has been trying to destroy The Order. He meets and is partnered with Kaya Laurant a Breedmate who has been training to be a warrior in the Order. She is working under Nikolai and Ranata they are the Head Leaders of The Order in Canada. Kaya has secrets and this is the plot of the story. Is she Betraying the Order?
The traitor in there mist is easily figured out and you keep hoping that it isn't who you think it is. The story has plenty of action. Aric and Mira make a wonderful couple and I liked both of them very much. They have a hot sensual romance together through out the story.
The only complaint I have is with all authors these days and it happens in Claimed in Shadows and that is the rape and violence too women. We live in a world today that authors need to write heroines or any of there females characters with high regard. All women are not abused and mistreated. I would love to see a more positive attitude in the books that I read all around about how great female's can be treated and loved. Just Maybe it will catch on in this world of ours. "Life Imitates Art". So I took a star away 4 stars instead of 5!!"

No kidding, I devoured this book, loved every word and have no regrets I did so.
From the moment I cracked the book open to when I closed it with a contented sigh, I was totally hooked. The instant and sizzling chemistry between the main characters Aric and Kaya was enthralling and mesmerising.
The powerful warrior Aric who is practically Breed royalty and the determined to become a warrior Kaya are a formidable force when paired to try to gain information on the latest threat to the Breed Nation Opus Nostrum.
While the mission doesn’t go as planned, it ultimately leads to a bigger problem than anyone expected and together they must learn to trust each other and to work with the rest of the Order to bring their enemy to their knees once and for all.
Add in a new arrival, a betrayal from an unexpected front and a loss no one will see coming and you have the latest unputdownable read that more than earns its place in the Breed world.
There is just something about this series that never lets me down when I NEED a phenomenal paranormal fix. I’ve been an avid reader since the very first book and when I say the Breed world keeps getting better, I truly mean it.

With a rough childhood, she wants to try to put the past behind her, but when Aric and her take on a mission involving Opus Nostrum, her past begins to creep up and put everyone she loves in danger.
Aric Chase, the eager warrior who seems to be ready to go out into the world and take on anything that is thrown at him, except he didn't expect Kaya to be tossed his way, sorta speak. The male is immediately taken with her and does everything in his power to find out everything about her, but when things go south, can he trust the very person he cares so much about??
Lara Adrian did it again with this one...Love it and can't wait for the next book!!!! - Great continuation to the Breed Series. It's so great to see the younger generation carrying on the legacy of their parents. I thought Aric, the oh so sexy smoldering daywalker was the perfect combination of charming, cocky and sweet. I love watching him ruffling Kaya' feathers and she trying to fight her attraction. Their banter was so fun to watch, had me cracking up in places. The story and romance move along nicely, kept me interested especially when they go on missions. Kaya was deficiently a bad-ass. Very confident, and fierce in battle, the perfect counterpart to Aric.
I highly recommend this book. Those who've followed the series, you won't be disappointed! And how the story ended makes me really, really want to read Rafe's story. (spoiler)
To be betrayed in such a such a way by the woman he cared for. Man, I can't wait to see who his heroine will be. And how she will break through his walls and fix his heart.
