• What a great read!!! This book is not only informative, but the author's humor throughout, makes a topic that might normally feel awkward and taboo to be very relatable and comfortable. The short easy to read chapters are perfect to fit in our busy lives and cover a multitude of topics. This book is a much needed teaching tool for anyone who has children. Anything that helps to open up conversation with our tweens and teens is a great thing to own.
• I wish this book had been available when my children were growing up - such tough subjects to navigate without experience!
  My friend's daughter has a daughter 10 years old, and during her last visit, we had quite a discussion about what to tell her daughter, and when.
  I ordered Teen World Confidential for her, but read it first. This book is well written, very informative, and easy to pick up and read snipits when you have a few minutes. The best thing is- it gives you confidence! I highly recommend it to parents with kids of all ages!
• Being fully transparent, I know Kim Cook, so you are welcome to take these words with an appropriately sized grain of salt. But I have many friends who have written books, and would never recommend those unless the work is exceptional. Kim's is.
  
  I wish I had had her understanding when my children were...well...children. I would have been a more capable parent. Thankfully, they are doing great in spite of my foibles and lack of knowledge.
  
  Kim's work is bold, wise, gentle, loving and incredibly useful and practical. She shares vital insights about how to more easily enter into the oft difficult topic of s-e-x with our progeny. She covers virtually every aspect of becoming a sexually healthy adult, and talks openly about how to help our children negotiate those often treacherous rapids.
  
  Then, there is her warm, casual, humorous writing style. Every page is a joy. She is self-effacing and brutally honest. She offers advice without preaching. She leaves the reader with a wonderful sense of confidence.
  
  If you have children, know children, or know anyone who has children, please give yourself, and others, the gift of Kim Cook's wisdom, insight and love. You won't regret it.
• Truly helpful and practical guide book for teaching your children about their bodies, minds, emotions, and spirits! I have twin 12-year boys, and have been putting off talking to them about sex; my husband has not talked with them either. This book has given me the tools to start conversations about sex and not fear to say the wrong thing. I am reading bits of the book as I go, and feeling empowered to chat with the kids when I now recognize as good opportunities. The author is compassionate, clearly qualified and uses her own family and humor to gently guide parents to help their family from infancy, teenage years, and well beyond.
• Wow- thank you to the author for putting this out there. Makes me feel more confident that these are conversations I need to have when my daughter gets older. This book is perfect even BEFORE your child hits the teen years. You have to be prepared and proactive. You have to have that plan in your head on how you want to talk to your child. But most importantly that you need to talk about these things. The author has amazing techniques and tips- I'm keeping this in front of me for sure.
• Yes! Finally a book for parents about talking to teens about sex that doesn't preach or put fear in your soul. The author is a mom who raised 3 daughters and hold your hand giving you support and funny anecdotes. You can jump around to which chapters pertain to your situation at the moment. Everything from how to talk to your doctor to STDs, HPV and the vaccines. She helps you to approach your kids on this topic and breaks down research and data to put you at the forefront of what's going on now.
• Reading this book felt like I was sitting at a table with a good friend having a cup of coffee and a conversation about how to have these awkward conversations that we need to have with our children. These talks about sex, friendships, values and morals can be difficult but they are so important. With a sense of Humor, Kim Cook, gives great suggestions in short 5 minute reads of topics that can be brought up and other suggestions of how to get these conversations started. A must read for parents who need some guidance of how to start talking to their kids about sex and friendships.
• What a great resource for parents, grandparents, older adult siblings....anyone who is caring for or spending time with a preteen or teen. As the parent of grown kids, I sure wish I had this 20 years ago! All that time spent waiting to pick them up, I could have been learning great tips and great information! (You know so many conversations happen in the car!) It is easy to talk about these things when you are informed and relaxed about it. I highly recommend this book and hope you will grab one....carry it in your purse or your car. Use that 5 minutes learning about ways to talk to your teens about tricky subjects! Your kids are worth it!
