- The title caught my eye and after reading only a few lines, I knew I'd hit the jackpot. When I read the whole book, I laughed so hard my ribs hurt, and that's pretty amazing considering I'm a pessimist. This book is the ideal gift for intellectual, sarcastic cynics who have a warped sense of humor. I wouldn't recommend it for the cutesy, 'huggy bunny' class of folks...first of all, they wouldn't 'get' the jokes, and secondly they'd be outraged if not horrified. This makes the book all more fun and appealing to those of us who are amused by the darker side of life. I salute the authors for going out on a limb, and the publisher for not letting politically correct doctrine get in the way of having some cynical laughs.
- I keep a copy of this nearby in my office and pull it out for an instant smile or laugh anytime. The quotes are all short simple sentences that provide immediate gratification. If someone visits my office in a bad mood I have them open the book to a random page to find their quote for the day.
A favorite - "If I act incompetent, people will take care of me".
I highly recommend this as a gift for anyone who has a sense of humor or needs one. It is clean humor -- sarcastic humor that most people can relate to on an average day. It is a great investment, I've had my copy for about 4 years and have bought over 10 copies for gifts. - Full of crazy witty sayings that make me laugh and at the same time make me realize that I can improve my attitude. It is the gentle hint I need on occasion.
- This book is a refreshing daily thought book for those who hate others and feel sorry for themselves, like I do most days. It's hysterical, dark humor that has made me and co workers of mine laugh through some of the worst days ever. I laughed so hard when I first read this book I was crying and on the floor with a stomach ache from laughing. Just funny stuff. I have kept my paper copy of this book on my desk for about 8 years now. Now I will keep the electronic on my kindle for every day use. Awesome.

- Such a funny book. The thoughts are dead on and I naturally do them all the time, so it's awesome to read them in print. I am literally in love with these old women.
- Hysterical ---- irreverent affirmations that we all have thought at some point. Refreshing, satirical, cynical and fun !
- This book is the pessimists rebuttal to the daily affirmations that drive "normal" people crazy! Only buy this book if you have a sense of humour and if you like great customer service. Otherwise keep going, they will make you laugh AND get to you promptly so you need to bear that in mind when placing an order for these books, with this seller.
